Shipping and receiving manager in nursery

MAIN DUTIES

  • Coordinating and preparing shipped products (plants/soil bags).
  • Loading and unloading delivery trucks, and receiving the merchandise for the backyard.
  • Verifying the accuracy and quality of orders to be delivered.
  • Maintain all delivery vehicles
  • Plan work schedules
  • Preparing the opening and closing of the garden center.
  • Maintaining clean and safe work spaces.
  • Maintaining stock levels to ensure they are always full.
  • Any other related task.

REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Level of education: High School, DEP or DEC in horticulture and equivalent experience

Spoken languages: French and English an asset.

Skills description:

  • Be in good physical shape and be able to handle items up to 50 lbs.
  • Organization skills and speed of execution are important.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Adaptable to changing weather conditions.

Employment status: Permanent, full time days (40 hours per week)

Work hours depend on weather conditions and in-store traffic.

Possibility of working more than 40 hours per week in May and June.

Salary: 20 $/h to 24 $/h, depending on experience.

Duration of employment: 7 to 9 months.

Expected start date: February 2025
